This year’s Show Me The Money Day in Muskegon is sponsored by Consumers Energy, the West Michigan CRA Association, Independent Bank, Comerica Bank, Community Shores Bank, and Read Muskegon. Goodwill Industries of West Michigan partnered with the United Way of the Lakeshore, ChoiceOne Bank, First General Credit Union, the Urban League, and the Coalition for Community Development, to plan and execute this event.

Show Me the Money Day is a statewide initiative coordinated by the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM). Events are hosted annually across Michigan to kick off tax season and promote opportunities to increase income, and to save and build assets.

In 2019, Show Me the Money Day touched 2,567 Michigan residents at 33 events across the state. Nearly 488 vendors talked one-on-one with participants, while community organizations and financial institutions provided more than 146 financial workshops. Overall, 72% of surveyed participants reported feeling more hopeful about their financial future after attending a Show Me the Money Day event.
