Janitorial Occupational Training (JOT) 

Goodwill’s comprehensive, 12-week program for a job preparation in the janitorial field

Learn from the experts! Goodwill Industries has been providing high-quality, comprehensive janitorial services to West Michigan businesses and industry for over 30 years. Specializing in floor care, workers are extensively trained in the use of state-of-the-art carpet and floor equipment.

Designed to prepare individuals to meet the quality standards of janitorial services, participants receive classroom instruction combined with paid on-the-job training in a community setting. Trainees master janitorial skills in general office cleaning, restroom cleaning, floor care, chemical handling, and equipment. Certification and job placement assistance granted upon completion.

Using 3M™ SMART Training resources and curriculum, participants learn tools and techniques including:

• safe chemical handling
• customer service
• floor care
• restroom cleaning
• kitchen cleaning
• trash and recycling
• windows and glass
• personal safety
• sanitizing

Upon graduation of the 12-week program, participants receive a certificate of completion and job search and placement services to secure employment.
