MUSKEGON, MI — Goodwill Industries of West Michigan President and CEO Jeanette Hoyer was recently elected to serve on the Goodwill Enterprise Sustainability Program (G-ESP) Steering Committee. The initiative was formed in 2007 by Goodwill Industries International (GII), a network of 161 independent, local Goodwill organizations throughout North American, as well as a presence in 13 other countries.
“We are very excited to have Jeanette join the committee,” said GII Sustainability Specialist Susanne Fredericks. “Her passion and insight is a great asset to the team.”
The purpose of G-ESP is to align Goodwill organizations to catalyze the creation and execution of effective national strategies, policies, and practices that support the long-term sustainability of Goodwill Industries. Using the principles commonly known as the “triple bottom line” — people, planet, and prosperity — the committee will provide strategic direction as well as hands-on support and guidance to the GII sustainability team and the Goodwill network.
“I am eager to serve on the committee and be at the forefront of discovering new ways of recycling and repurposing donated materials as they reach their end of use,” Hoyer said. “Exploring and sharing our collective knowledge, ideas, innovations, and best practices allows us to develop effective sustainability solutions both regionally and nationally.”
Each year we celebrate community members who overcame adversity through the power of work, and the employers who supported them.
