CARF_GoldSealMUSKEGON, MI — Goodwill Industries of West Michigan (GIWM) received its 16thconsecutive, three-year accreditation from CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) International through a rigorous peer-review process. CARF is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human service organizations. Its mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of persons served.

“Your organization should take pride in achieving this high level of accreditation,” said CARF President and CEO Brian Boon. “Services, personnel, and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of conformance to standards. This achievement is an indication of your organization’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of persons served.”

Furthermore, Goodwill’s accreditation report identified “no recommendations.” This accomplishment is achieved on only 3 percent of all CARF surveys.

“Having an external survey team extensively review our operations and programming affirms for us that we are solid in all practices,” said Chief Workforce Officer Kristin Garris. “We are proud of our staff for their high quality work, and weare committed to continuing to provide programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.”

GIWM’s accreditation includes these internationally recognized categories: Community Employment Services: Employment Supports, Community Employment Services: Job Development, Employee Development Services, Employment and Career Centers, and Governance Standards Applied.
