Goodwill Industries of West Michigan (GIWM) is pleased to announce that it has received ISO 9001:2008 certification for its Industrial Services Division.
GIWM is one of only 18 Goodwill Industries organizations internationally that have achieved an ISO certification.
One year after receiving its original ISO certification, Goodwill completed its first annual surveillance audit and achieved an ISO 9001:2008 certification. The 2008 reclassification includes new requirements and replaces the 2000 version.
“We are committed to improving value to our customers, and to improving our performance as an organization,” said GIWM President & CEO Richard Carlson. “Achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification is another validation of our commitment to deliver and maintain the highest quality services.”
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world’s largest developer of International Standards with a network of national standard institutes of more than 150 countries. ISO 9001:2008 quality management system provides organizations with a means to demonstrate its ability to provide products/services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It also includes processes for continual improvement of the system and corrective actions to maintain quality.
