Work Readiness Program

Work Readiness Program
Work Readiness is designed to provide psychosocial / vocational rehabilitation for persons with mental illness. This training focuses on maintaining psychiatric stability through the therapeutic power of work. Job seeking and maintenance, money management, self care, use of leisure time, stress management, and improving health care skills are all covered. Clients are referred and supported by Community Mental Health Services of Muskegon County.
Individualized service plans are developed and jointly agreed upon by the participant, referring counselors / therapist, and Goodwill rehabilitation counselors. The establishment of specific work-related goals is focused on adapting and adjusting to the work demands and environment.
As the participant gains confidence, skill, and ability to manage symptoms, he or she will be encouraged to work toward a full workday schedule and production capacity. For those unable to tolerate a full workday or have other needs, partial day program services and support may be designed to meet their needs.
