Tax Deduction
Goodwill Industries of West Michigan is a qualified 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. If you itemize your deductions on your federal tax return, you are entitled to claim a deduction for your donations to Goodwill.
Every 42 seconds of every business day, someone gets a job — and comes closer to achieving personal and financial independence — thanks to Goodwill and you. The sales of your donations help fund Goodwill’s job training programs and other career services that help people become successful at work.
Goodwill Industries is consistently ranked among top charities that make your
donations go further. Not all organizations that collect donations make the
best use of them. Some thrift stores solicit donations under the name of a
charity, but as little as 5 percent of the money generated from these donations
may actually go to the charity. At Goodwill Industries of West Michigan, over
90 percent of the revenue generated through retail store sales is used to fund
our employment and training programs.
Goodwill donors may also choose to make a monetary donation. Regardless
of how you contribute, we are grateful for your support.
