What we Do
What does Goodwill do?
Helping people get jobs is what Goodwill Industries is all about. It’s the motivation behind everything we do. At
Goodwill, we believe that work is the key, essential factor in the ability of people to achieve desirable life outcomes. With it, comes independence, pride, self-esteem, and sense of purpose. “Changing Lives through the Power of Work” is our motto.

Employment & Training
Goodwill is West Michigan’s largest nonprofit provider of
education, training, and career services for people with
disabilities and other barriers to employment. Our broad
range of programs and supports serve a diverse set of
individual and community needs.
Retail Stores and Donations
Currently operating ten stores throughout West Michigan, as well as shopgoodwill.com, Goodwill is committed to quality and customer satisfaction. Stores are conveniently located, well organized, and offer exceptional value. Supported through generous donations from the community, store revenues are channeled back into job training programs.
Business Services
Beyond retail operations, Goodwill operates a
compilation of business-to-business enterprises. Our
industrial and janitorial divisions support and thrive on
contractual partnerships with area businesses and
manufacturers. Additionally, Goodwill’s workforce
development division assists local human resource staffs with employee recruitment, screening, testing, temporary staffing, and more. |
