Goodwill Industries of West Michigan is pleased to announce the Grand Opening Celebration of its new Newaygo store on Friday, January 13. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 11:45 a.m. and doors open at noon.

Conveniently located at 8143 Mason Drive (M-37), near the intersection of M-82, the new store boasts 7,200 square feet — a significant increase from its current 4,500 — and will replace the existing Newaygo store located in the River Valley Shopping Center.

Featuring abundant windows and skylights, the store’s larger sales floor and processing area will result in increased merchandise offerings to customers.

A covered donation “drive-thru” on the south side of the building, allows donors to drive right up and receive curbside assistance from Goodwill staff. “We understand and appreciate that our donors are busy people. We want to make the experience as convenient and pleasant as possible,” said James Cherney, Goodwill Director of Retail Operations.

Other improvements include a truck dock and trash compactor for increased efficiencies in transportation and trash removal.

The Grand Opening Celebration features a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with the participation of key staff and local dignitaries, and radio station WMUS-FM 107 will be on site to host a live radio remote from noon until 2:00 p.m.

Other festivities include a free gift to every customer, drawings for prizes, refreshments, and — as part of a Goodwill grand opening tradition — a hidden one hundred dollar bill to be found by one lucky shopper!

Lisa Cabada returns as the Newaygo store manager. “I’m happy to be a part of the Newaygo retail team again, and look forward to reacquainting myself with our loyal customers and donors.”

Regular Store Hours: Mon.– Sat.: 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. and Sun.: 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
