Goodwill is pleased to announce the Grand Opening Celebration of its new Ludington store on Saturday, October 22. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 8:45 a.m. and doors open at 9:00 a.m.

Conveniently located at 4781 West US-10, across from Wal-Mart, the new store boasts 12,000 square feet - a significant increase from its current 9,000 - and will replace the existing Ludington store that opened in the summer of 1997.

Featuring abundant windows, skylights, and a bold new interior color scheme with wood accents, shoppers will find it hard to believe they are in a "thrift" store. A larger sales floor and processing area will result in increased merchandise offerings to customers.

A covered donation "drive-thru" on the east side of the building, allows donors to drive right up and receive curbside assistance from Goodwill staff. "Our donors are the lifeblood of our mission. We are very grateful for their growing support and are committed to making the donation process as pleasant and convenient as possible," said James Cherney, Goodwill Director of Retail Operations.

Other major improvements will be a truck dock and trash compactor that will greatly increase efficiencies in transportation and trash removal.

The Grand Opening Celebration will feature a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with the participation of local dignitaries, as well as staff and ambassadors of the Ludington Area Chamber of Commerce. Radio station WKLA-FM 106.3 will be on site to host a live radio remote from 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Other festivities include a free gift to every customer, drawings for prizes, Halloween treats, and - as part of a Goodwill grand opening tradition - a hidden one hundred dollar bill to be found by one lucky shopper!

The new store will be brimming with quality merchandise, including brand new goods and lots of Halloween décor items.

Store Hours: Mon.- Sat.: 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Sun.: 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Phone: (231) 843-0003
