NewsRoomPress Releases February 20, 2004 Whitehall, MI — The newly constructed Goodwill Store in Whitehall will open its doors in sometime in mid-March, with a formal Grand Opening Celebration planned for Saturday, March 20. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 8:45 a.m. with doors opening at 9:00 a.m. "The White Lake community has been extremely generous, both with their donations and with their customer shopping," said Goodwill Retail Director Jim Cherney. "We are pleased to be expanding into a much larger location still within the Plumb's shopping center area. And incorporating a donation drive-thru onto the store offers more convenience and better customer service for our donors." The Grand Opening Celebration on March 20 will feature prizes, giveaways, candy, balloons, and - as part of a Goodwill grand opening tradition - a hidden one hundred dollar bill to be found by one lucky shopper! Shoppers can also expect a fully stocked store, including discounted new goods acquired from area retailers. A live radio remote by WCXT FM 105.3 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. will be hosted by announcer Mark Waters. Construction on the building began in December 2003 by developer Brad VanBergen of Winberg Construction of Montague. The new store boasts 6,000 square feet - over double the size of its current location. The mission of Goodwill Industries of West Michigan, Inc.
